Meeting Ivan Maisel

🍀Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending an event featuring Ivan Maisel — the award-winning sports journalist and author who has covered college football for over four decades. 

Known for pairing deep statistical insight with the human side of the game, Ivan spoke about his career, his years as ESPN’s first dedicated college football writer (2002–2021), and his new book on Notre Dame coaching legend Frank Leahy — a fascinating portrait brought to life through rare access to the Leahy family and the Fighting Irish archives.

The event was hosted by the Notre Dame Alumni Club of San Diego, a community I’m proud to be part of. 

The University of Notre Dame holds a special place in our hearts — my husband is a grad, and we were married on campus — so evenings like this always feel like coming home. 🍀
